At Goldfields Child Care Centre Inc. we endeavour to provide a warm, secure environment in which the rights and the best interests of the child are paramount. Through strong leadership, professional development, committed educators and support from families, we create a strong sense of teamwork, collaboration, and community — building positive and respectful relationships with one another.

Educators contribute to children's knowledge through play-based learning, intentional teaching, observations, and parent input. We encourage children to express their views, ideas, and opinions through a vast array of activities and resources. All children are treated with respect and supported in developing at their own pace.

We celebrate and embrace the diversity that each family brings and are committed to developing our cultural knowledge and building a culturally safe environment. Our outdoor environments encourage exploration, discovery, and respect for the land, nature, and living creatures.

We value the importance of connecting with the community around us through excursions and incursions. Connectedness to community supports a child's learning, development, and wellbeing — and reflects who we are as a Goldfields centre.

How we're structured

Run by families, for families.

We are a not-for-profit organisation with a dedicated parent committee involved at a management level. This means the people who govern our centre are the same people who drop their children off every morning. Decisions are made with families in mind — because they are made by families.

Through strong leadership, professional management, committed educators and support from families, we create a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration — building positive and respectful relationships with one another.

Acknowledgement of Country

Goldfields Child Care Centre acknowledges the many First Nations of Australia. In particular, we acknowledge the First Nations and peoples of the Goldfields region as the traditional custodians of this land. We pay our respects to the Elders as the leaders of those nations.

Goldfields Child Care Centre aims to share knowledge, teach and learn in partnership with First Nations peoples to ensure the values, attitudes and beliefs of all cultures are embedded and respected in all of our practices.
